Oil, Acrylic, and Gold Leaf on Canvas

I painted this my senior year of college as a part of a series. The series was to express the absurdity of iconography in modern religions and their influence on art. Heavy Catholic influences from my childhood are evident as well as the connection to oil paintings that are common with Iconography from Byzantine and Orthodox Christian traditions.
